HodgePodge

Welcome to the land of HodgePodge - Glennwood, Woody and friends' web site
Update: October 14, 2008: not much new in the land of HodgePodge but you never know - search on 'Glennwood, Woody and Friends' and see what you find - lots of hits - CDs are really really available...

Regarding the CD, remember, "Life is like a box of chocolates". The songs on this CD reflect many different musical styles: rock, blues, pop, jazz, 'used age', bluegrass and even a country song in 3/4 time. A musical 'Whitman's Sampler' if you will. The songs were written over a period of 40 years (1967-2007) - from 'Schwingin', written in 1967 when I took jazz guitar lessons - a jazzy, schwingy guitar tune featuring Mason Hargrove on lead and Woody on Bass, to 'Faith', a contemplative look at Genesis 22 by me and Soren Kierkegaard, written between 2000 and 2007 (Soren takes a while to grasp - the song was inspired by a reading of his Fear and Trembling). We go through a few changes over time. Here, some of those changes are represented musically. Like a lot of people proclaim about their weather "if you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes, it will change". Same thing applies when listening to our CD. If one tune doesn't float your boat, wait for the next one. We hope you enjoy this and will spread the word around.

Peace... Glennwood, Woody, and Friends.

Here are some quotes about the CD:

"On HodgePodge, Glenn serves up some excellent bluesy/jazzy originals. Like sitting down to a down home Southern Sunday dinner, this is fine musical comfort food." - Phil Hirschi, former cellist for John McClaughin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra

“Hodgepodge is an eclectic groove that reminds me a little of Lou Reed. There is a lot of richness to mine in both lyrics and music.” - Nina Laden, nationally acclaimed author and illustrator.

"If I were extant, I would really enjoy this music, especially the one where he quotes from my book 'Fear and Trembling". Soren Kierkegaard, Existentialist Philosopher.
